America & Alabama at a Crossroads; You Pick the Direction

For the first time in my lifetime, I’m worried that my children and grandchildren won’t have an America better than the one before it.  President Obama and the liberals who have a stranglehold on our political system have increased taxes, exploded the debt and participated in out-of-control spending.

Fortunately, Alabamians finally released that stranglehold on our state in the last election by electing a majority of Republicans to the state legislature for the first time in 136 years.  What have they done since they got to Montgomery?  They have found ways to end the culture of corruption in state government, cut needless spending, decrease the tax burden for all Alabamians and put our state’s economy back on a path to recovery.

So what does any of this have to do with the special election for House District 45? Everything!  America and Alabama are at a crossroads.  We can continue finding creative ways to improve our economy and create jobs, or we can follow the Washington model of higher taxes and increased spending, which destroys jobs.

My opponent continues to hide from the fact that the state Democrat Party Chairman is on record saying that Obama’s political operation, Obama for America, is intimately involved in her campaign.  I don’t know about you, but we in District 45 are tired of Obama’s policies and we’re ready to fight back.

I am a small businessman, and that’s why my campaign is based on the proven, job-creating tenets of lower taxes, less spending, and a balanced budget.  When government lives within its means and leaves taxpayers’ money in their own pockets, our economy grows and jobs are created.

As your state representative, nothing will receive a higher priority on my agenda than keeping jobs and creating opportunities for new jobs.

We must also continue down the road paved by Governors Riley and Bentley to recruit new business and industry to Alabama. Our climate is ripe, our people are anxious, our natural resources are vast, and our can-do spirit is immeasurable. There is no limit to the potential to our ability to crank up the engines of prosperity and opportunity right here today.

I spent 42 years in the Air Force & National Guard because I love this state and nation. I have been afforded an opportunity to live in freedom, raise a family and now to enjoy my grandchildren. I want to give back to the community that has blessed my family and me with success.

I humbly ask for your vote, which will be a vote to fight back and tell the spenders and the taxers that “we’ve had enough!”  On Tuesday, November 29th, vote less taxes and less spending to put more money in your pocket and more jobs for our citizens.

Vote Dickie Drake for Alabama House District 45.
