Fall Festival to benefit hospice

While some local residents will be spending their weekend watching the racetrack, Lakeside Hospice will offer some free fall fun for families on Saturday.
The non-profit organization will host their first-ever Fall Festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their 4010 Masters Rd. location in Pell City.
Throughout the day, the facility will once again play host to a yard sale, featuring both individual sellers and items that were donated for the proceeds to benefit Lakeside Hospice.
The ribbon wreaths produced by the Ladies Auxiliary Unit 170 to benefit the hospice and veterans will also be available for purchase on site.
For the kids, free activities will include the Noah’s Ark moonwalk, games and prizes available. Food will also be available for a donation to the hospice.
“We’re hoping that the race traffic on 34 will bring us a good crowd, we’re hoping we’ll get the passers-by, but we’re already getting a lot of calls from the fliers we have out,” said Teresa Carden, one of the event’s coordinators at Lakeside Hospice. “People are always looking for family outings and it’s something that will be free to the public where the kids can have fun and play with at no cost.”
Lakeside Hospice is a non-profit organization which provides end-of-life care for anyone in St. Clair County in need. Donations often go toward their indigent care fund, which pays for care for those who are unable to pay on their own and don’t have medical coverage for hospice care.
