State Rep. Owen Drake, R-Leeds, passed away last night following a battle with cancer. Drake missed most of the 2011 legislative session, but worked to pass a ban on sewer non-use fees, which passed the House but not the Senate.

Drake has served in the Alabama House of Representatives since 2006, and previously served as a Leeds City Councilman.
