* A total expenditure of $400 was approved for two commercial truck batteries for the Number 1 fire pump engine, which pumps water to the sprinkler systems at the business technology park in Brompton. The batteries were purchased through Brasher Tire.

* Acceptance of a $12,500 book grant for the library was approved, which included $2,500 in matching funds from the city.
* Purchase of $489.97 worth of tools for the maintenance shop was approved. The tools were purchased through Auto Zone.
* A repair totaling $748.60 was approved for a Moody Police Department squad car. The vehicle was recently damaged during an accident. According to City Clerk Patsy Beard, the guilty party paid about $300 for repairs, as they did not want the incident reported to insurance. However, he failed to return and pay the remaining $448.60. The balance has been turned over to the city for litigation.
* A semi-annual fire alarm inspection through Prestige Alarm and Specialty was approved. A preliminary estimate for the inspection was $2,520, which included labor, two batteries and code compliance paperwork. Any additional parts that need to be replaced would be extra.
* A three-way stop was approved at the intersection of Fortner Lane and Daniel Drive upon recommendation of the city engineer.
* Bids were awarded for a retention pond at the Alden Glen subdivision, whose developer is no longer involved in management of the area. Despite estimates of $11,000 for the project by the city engineer, the low bid was Ocet, Inc. at $4,737.
