Purple Devils lay claim to playoff berth

Having defeated the 10th-ranked team in Class 1A, the Ragland Purple Devils have claimed the Region 6 championship and secured home field advantage for the first round of state playoffs.
Ragland’s 21-14 win against Appalachian last Friday improved its record to 7-2 and 6-1 in region standings and qualified the Purple Devils to host Hubbertville in post-season play on Nov. 5. They host Collinsville in their last regular season game at 7 p.m. Friday.

on top with touchdown passes of 16 yards and eight yards to Jonathan Gibson and Jimmy Brock, respectively.
Sondre Torp provided all of the Purple Devils’ extra points.
Arnold completed eight of 10 passes for a total of 141 yards. Brock was his most frequent target, gaining 51 yards on three receptions. Devan Brewster and Devin Wilson rushed for 37 yards each, followed by Nick Daniels with 30.
