Due to extremely dry weather conditions and an increased number of fires in the area recently, the town of Argo has but the kibosh on campfires for the time being.

Mayor Paul Jennings recently enacted a no-burn order, which forbids any open fires within the city limits or fire jurisdiction of Argo.

The no-burn order includes outdoor burning, campfires, trash fires, cooking fires and any other type of open flame.

The order will remain in effect until further notice.
