Ragland looks to continue high-scoring hot streak

Ragland’s Purple Devils have, in four games, outscored their opponents 162-7 and plan to continue their winning streak when they host Gaylesville for a non-region game at 7 p.m. Friday.

One of two undefeated teams in Region 6, Ragland improved to 4-0 with a 35-0 win against Parkway Christian Academy last week.  

John Arnold scored touchdowns on two of his three passes against the Wildcats, connecting with receivers Kijana Lindsey and Jimmy Brock on completions of 23 and 27 yards, respectively.

JohnMark Mintz, Nick Daniel, and Devane Brewster each rushed for a touchdown Friday.  Daniel’s 20-yard scoring run accounted for almost a third of his 63 rushing yards for the night.  Devin Wilson, currently the leading rusher in Region 6A, gained a total of 26 against Parkway.

Austin Thornton made four of his region-leading 26 tackles Friday.  Keyshawn Killings also made four, and Cole Bearden had thee tackles.

Brewster had one quarterback sack for a loss of nine yards, and Michael Snow made one for a loss of three.
