Pell City Police Dept. May report

In May, the Pell City Police Department issued 72 warrants. The patrol division made 100 misdemeanor arrests and eight felony arrests. The narcotics unit made eight misdemeanor arrests, searched five vehicles and made 27 citations.

Three forged scripts, one gram of meth, one gram of heroin, five unknown pills, a quarter ounce of marijuana and one weapon were taken off the streets. There was one DUI.

Animal Control picked up seven cats, 14 dogs and 10 wildlife animals. The Riverside services picked up one dog and seven cats.

Chaplains, volunteers and school community service volunteers had 176 hours in May. General volunteers helped with high school graduations, memorial services, accidents, a citizen transport and other incidents.

The Marine Patrol Unit started operations in May. They performed security patrols for lakeside homes and passed out contact information to the residents.
