- St. Clair County High School's Rebecca Parker
St. Clair County Senior 4-H’er, Rebecca Parker, was recently selected to be a part of the Alabama delegation attending the 2010 Citizenship Washington Focus Conference (CWF), a 4-H citizenship program, in Washington D.C. this summer. Rebecca will travel to the capital with a group of other 4-H’ers from across the state. The delegation, made up of youth ages 14-19, will spend a week at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, in Chevy Chase, MD, just outside of Washington, D. C. They will be given a behind-the-scenes look at our nation’s capital as well as the workings of our government. They will also participate in workshops and assemblies that increase individual commitment to citizen involvement and build lifetime skills for success.
Rebecca has also been chosen to serve on the State 4-H Council. She will represent our area in making decisions concerning Alabama 4-H while being a leader and role model for younger youth. Rebecca has served for several years as a youth helper in the 4-H Clover Classroom Summer Workshop Series held each July in St. Clair County. She also serves as an assistant for Mrs. Stephanie Abernathy, a 4th grade teacher at Ashville Elementary, where she helps with the Rookie Robotics 4-H volunteer-led Club.
Rebecca is invaluable to me as the 4-H Agent. She is always willing to lend a hand when needed and often when not asked. Thanks Rebecca and congratulations!
