The Purple Devils faced a tough Piedmont squad Monday on the road and were beaten easily, 76-38.

Colton Echols scored nine points, Anthony Jones scored six and Bradley Barber chipped in five.

“We did not play well in any phase of the game,” Ragland coach Andy Eden said. “Piedmont is one of the better teams we have played this year and when you play like we did you have no chance to compete.”

Jonathan Gibson scored 15 points and Echols scored 11 but Ragland fell to Jefferson Christian 60-50.

“We played ourselves into a hole in the second quarter. We were able to come backing the second half and take the lead but we didn’t have enough to finish,” Eden said afterwards.

John Arnold scored nine points with five rebounds and Devin Wilson added eight points and nine rebounds for Ragland.
