Each Christmas season since the late 1990s, the Pell City Kiwanis Club along with the Pell City High School Key Club have rung the bell for the Salvation Army.

The Kiwanis Club was the first organization in Pell City to ring bells for the Salvation Army.

Throughout the years, local people have given generously and in 2008, a collection of $3,000 was given to the Salvation Army by the Pell City Kiwanis Club along with the Pell City High School Key Club to support the the Salvation Army’s activities.

This year bell ringing at the Pell City Kmart began December 11.

The final donation week begins December 23-24.

“We appreciate the community’s support,” Kiwanis member Don Hutcheson said.
