Lady Tigers 5-3-1 at Gulf Coast Classic

On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers downed Clay-Chalkville 5-1 at home, improving their record to 10-6-1.

Tanner Earley went two for two at the plate and had two RBIs, a double and one run. Danyelle Martin was two for three with two runs and an RBI; Dixie Rhodes was one for two; Taylor Earley was one for three; Kirsten Gipson went one for three with a run and a double; and Savanna Hennings was one for three.

From the circle, Hennings struck out six batters while allowing two hits.

Springville 0, Sparkman 4

The Lady Tigers were defeated by the Lady Senators in a game that saw Hennings strikeout five batters while going one for two at the plate. Gipson was also was one for two.

Grace Academy 0

Hennings struck out 10 batters on the Tennessee team’s roster while Rhodes went two for two with an RBI and a triple that put Martin over home plate. Martin and Brittany Dunn were both one for two at the plate in that game.

Springville 3, Huntsville 1

Gipson was two for three with an RBI against the 6A Panthers. Sydne Waldrop was one for four with a run and a double; Martin was one for three with a run; and Dunn was one for three with an RBI.

Hennings had an impressive 13 strikeouts in that game.

Pleasant Grove 0

Waldrop went three for three with two runs. Gipson was two for three at the plate with an RBI and two runs; Hennings was also two for three with one run and three RBIs and a double; Ashley Wise was one for two with an RBI; Chelsea Jones was one for two and Kelsey Ray was one for two with one run.

Hennings threw seven strikeouts in that game.

Springville 3, Dickens County 0

Hennings had 10 strikeouts and allowed two hits against their Tennessee opponent in Game 5 of the tournament.

Gipson was two for three with an RBI; Waldrop was one for two with a run; Earley went one for three with an RBI; Tanner Earley was one for two with an RBI, a double and scored one run while Chelsea Jones was one for two in that game.

Springville 2, John Carroll 1

Mallory Waldrop took to the circle to earn four strikeouts against the Lady Cavaliers.

Waldrop was one for two with a run and a triple. Morgan Griggs was one for three with a run and Wise went one for two.

Springville 3, East Limestone 3

The Lady Tigers tied the Limestone County team in their third game of the tournament in a game that saw Taylor Earley go two for two at the plate with one RBI and earning one run. Griggs was two for three with a run; Wise went one for one and Hennings was one for three with an RBI and a triple.

Hennings had seven strikeouts in that game.

Springville 0, Travis 3

The Lady Tigers were defeated by a Texas high school team in their second game of the tournament. While Hennings threw twelve strikeouts, the Lady Tigers could not get the bats going in that game.

Springville 0, Hueytown 3

McKinley Tribble had three strikeouts in the first game of the tournament, but three runs scored by the Lady Golden Gophers in the third inning would be the nail in the coffin for the Lady Tigers first outing last week.
