The Ragland Purple Devils are now area champions after securing the 62-30 win over Coosa Christian.

“I am proud of the way this team recovered from our mid-season slump to accomplish this feat,” coach Andy Eden said.

That game had J.T. Caldwell put in 23 points; Jamiel Brock sank 12 points and had eight rebounds while Mason Sanders rounded out the top three with eight points and rebounds apiece.

Ragland 55, Sacred Heart 50

In what head coach Andy Eden called “A huge area win for us in a difficult environment” the Purple Devils were able to get themselves one win closer to their championship.

Eden called the game, “Probably the best all-around game we’ve played all season.”

Nick Kay had 19 points; Brock racked up 14 with two boards while Sanders also scored 14 points and had six boards, three steals and six assists.

“I was proud of the way we played together as a team,” Eden said after that game.

Jamarcus Embry had 13 points, seven rebounds; Jamiel Brock also had 13 with six boards and Corey Alverson and J.T. Caldwell each had 10 points that night.
