On Tuesday the Ragland Purple Devils were able to pull out a 52-50 win over the Jefferson Christian Eagles at home.

“Jefferson Christian has a very athletic team,” head coach Andy Eden said. “We did not play so well in the first [half], but we played considerably better in the second. We were able to pull out the win despite being out rebounded.”

Jefferson Christian was up 16-13 by the end of the first, but the Purple Devils came together and tied it up 27-27 at the half. Ragland tacked on another 16 in the third and led 43-36 before the Eagles put up another 14 points to Ragland’s nine in the fourth.

Nick Kay was the top point maker, putting up 18 in that game; Jameil Brock had 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and seven assists while Mason Sanders had 12 points, four rebounds and one assist.
