The bodies of two Ashville women, Natasha Phillips, 21, and Ferlando Whisenant, 20, were found last week in a car submerged in a stream underneath Interstate 59 North after being reported missing for three days.

The bodies were in the upside down car in a tributary of Pinedale Lake off I-59 at mile marker 164 near Ashville. Both women were still wearing their seatbelt. The car had crashed through a guardrail into the stream.

According to Birmingham police, the women had been missing for three days after they had traveled to Birmingham for a night out.

The bodies were in a submerged, upside down Buick in Pinedale Lake off Interstate 59.
