All About Ashville

Well done and well run to the Ashville High School Boys Cross Country Team. They took second at The St. Clair County Cross Country Team. They took second at The St. Clair County Classic. Joe Stevens placed first. Junior Ryan Matthews came in eighth. Freshman, Anzlee Farmer took 9th for the girls. Great start to your high school career, Miss Farmer!

The coaches at Ashville are trying to make it easier for fans to know the wheres and whens of games, races and meets. Instead of posting individually, they are working on a comprehensive list for the whole week. Certain events: Youth Night, Senior Night, and Homecoming may still have their own graphics.

The St. Clair County Historical Society has given much to the preservation of the preservation of the county’s heritage. At present, their main focus is the John Looney House. They plan to give all their funds and are trying to raise more. They are asking something of its citizens.

If anyone knows of any building, area or event that is not on the register but should be, please contact the society through their website stclairhistoricalsociety.com. They are also always looking for new members. Applications can be picked up at Ashville Center of Archives, any county library, or online.

Could their be a better time for an Ashvillian interested in preserving the city’s history to join? The company of like minded people trying put the fun in fundraiser? Good luck, Ashville.
