Pell City Library welcomes Mike Garrett for author event Sunday

On Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. the Pell City Public Library welcomes author Mike Garrett for a book signing event as he presents his new release, “Innocence Denied.”

Author Mike Garrett has worked as an Editorial Associate for the Writers Digest School and taught writing workshops at colleges and university throughout the nation.

“I’ve always enjoyed helping struggling writers achieve their dreams,” Garrett admits.

However, several years ago, an idea for a suspenseful novel occurred to him, but he somehow never got motivated enough to write it.  A church sermon inspired him to use his spiritual gifts in service for God.  From that gentle nudge, the story that had nagged him for years began to take shape and seemed to be the vehicle.   Only this time what occurred was a Christian novel of suspense that could possibly inspire its readers too.

In this suspenseful novel a brutal murder, a mysterious stranger, a fleeing fugitive and divine intervention combine to create a captivating story of intrigue, love, redemption and hope!

Derrick Walton is on a divinely inspired mission to risk his own life to save someone else.  Desiring to atone for past sins, he reaches out to Larissa Baxter, a beautiful Arizona socialite falsely accused of the murder of her husband.  Facing life in prison, if convicted, she flees, hiding in isolation in Alabama. Their paths cross and Derrick faces the challenge of his life!

Critics describe the novel as “captivating,” “unputdownable,” and “absolutely wonderful.”
