Springville Vista: A flurry of fall activities

Storytime at Springville Library is held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Crafts and snacks are available along with a story.

The Springville Tigers High School Football team won the football jamboree 21-14, Friday, Aug. 19 against Boaz.

One Eighty Church will host the “Cruisin’ For Christ” Fourth Annual Car Show and Swap Meet, Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. They will have food and music. Proceeds will help fund Celebrate Recovery, a Christian-based program that helps people with psychological conditions with conditions such as anxiety and addiction.

The White’s Mt. Chimney Corner Celebration will be October 14-15 in St. Clair Springs. Events include bluegrass, bagpipes, BBQ, blacksmithing, etc. Contact (205) 467-6927 for more information.

The Springville Cross Country Track Team is hosting The Tiger Pride 5K Run and one mile fun run, Saturday, Oct. 29. Look out for more details soon.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work. Cadets also learn piloting skills. The Springville Splash Pad at Big Springs Park is a great place to have fun and stay cool. Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sundays 1 – 5 p.m. Admission for ages 4 and up is $1. For parties/groups or more information call (202) 467-2705.
