Pell City Bulletin

Hello everyone.  Hope you are planning a safe and fun Memorial Day. While Victory Christian School was out for summer last week (May 16), today is the day for Pell City and St. Clair County Schools to be dismissed for the summer. I know all of the kids are happy.

Thought for today: “If you wanna see the true character of person watch the way they treat someone who can’t do anything for them.” Kanye West

Congratulations to all graduating seniors. You have all made it through this step to your future and are awesome, unique and wonderful in your own way.

Logan Martin LakeFest and Boat Show 2019 was a great success. Congratulations to the ATV winner, James Acton! And congratulations to Darryl Brewer, the winner of the grand prize boat!

Almost time! The Hometown Block Party will be Saturday, June 1 from 3 -9 p.m. You are invited to Downtown Pell City for a night of family fun with live music, vendors, and a kids’ block! Admission is free.  Entertainment line-up will include Jamison Taylor’s School of Music and returning favorites The Wingnuts.

Looking for something for your kids to do? New Hope Baptist Church will have its Summer Kick-Off on May 29 at 6:30 p.m. Join in and have fun on a 100 foot Slip-and-Slide and play Slip-and-Slide Kickball. Enjoy free food and a Surprise Dessert! Don’t forget a towel and to wear your swimsuit.

At New Hope Baptist Church, come out to have fun and praise Jesus at a Sports Camp with Pastor Paul Brasher. This will be June 17 – 20, from 9-11 a.m.

Congratulations to Carter and Linda Alvis on their 41st wedding anniversary.

Happy birthday to Cody Callahan, Gail Brown, Brian Reaves, Kayla Batton, Sam Worthy, Jason Haynes, Will Holmes, Jill Perry, Maggie Reynolds, Renee Bishop, Carol Boone, Michael Dickinson, Sarah DuBose, Mike Evans, Kaden Hanes, Kristi Holliman, Toni Foster, and Lila Henderson.

Please keep the families of Danny Nixon, Roger Dale Haynes, Flora Bryant, and Louise Bell in your thoughts and prayers.

Did you know that Alabama’s official state song, “Alabama” was written by Julia Tutwiler? It was adopted as the state song in 1931.

Did you know that 69% of Americans don’t know that you need to cut 500 calories per day (or burn that amount) from your diet to lose one pound per week?

Remember:  Beloved, God’s Word says that “…He hears the prayer of the righteous” (Proverbs 15:29). Be confident that God hears your prayer!  (Joseph Prince)

Have a wonderfully blessed and safe week. Please email any news and information to annette_snow@yahoo.com.
