‘Pins for Kids’ raises money for The Children’s Place
The St. Clair Children’s Advocacy Center, also known as The Children’s Place, held their First Annual “Pins for Kids” bowling tournament at Premiere Cinemas and Bowl in Pell City.
“We were so pleased with the response when we began planning this event,” said Cheryl Fagan, Education Coordinator at The Children’s Place. “We knew we had room for 12 teams to bowl and that’s exactly what we had!”
The teams included Andritz, Children’s Place, Department of Human Resources, Eden Elementary, Moody Utilities Department, Metro Bank, Pell City Civitans (two teams), St. Clair County District Attorney’s Office, St. Clair Sheriff’s Office (two teams) and Union State Bank.
The area businesses sponsoring the event were Pruitt and Richardson Law Firm, Freeman Service Co, Inc., Spire Energy/ Pell City, Cayce Wilson/ State Farm Agent Odenville, and Brian Worley/ State Farm Agent Moody.
Pam Kelley, Executive Director wanted to thank the sponsors. “Without sponsors we cannot have events like this one. The sponsors help with the extra costs so we can concentrate on making sure everyone has a good time and the event runs smoothly.”
The Children’s Place would also like to thank Mark Vaughn and Ann Ray from Pell City Cinema. “The managers and staff made this event so easy for us. They went out of their way to help and provide what we needed,” Fagan said.
The money raised will help fund educational and counseling programs for children at The Children’s Place.
