Space now open for Extension’s fall Health Fair

The St. Clair County Extension Resource Health Council will host their annual health fair on Thursday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pell City Civic Center. This year’s theme is “Your Best Defense…Good Health.” The health fair is free and open to the public.
The health fair is designed to increase awareness and promote healthy lifestyles throughout the community. Organizations from across the St. Clair County and surrounding areas will provide educational information in an effort to help residents become better acquainted with the health care resources in their area.
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) will administer flu shots. The cost is $5 per person or free to those covered by Medicaid or Medicare (please bring your card). Free health screenings will also be available.
Entertainment will be provided and door prizes will be given away throughout the day.
There are two ways that you and your company may participate and participation is encouraged on more than one level. One is corporate sponsorship. These sponsors provide monetary donations to cover expenses of the Health Fair, including advertisement. The second is a vendor booth. These are subject to review and approval by the Health Resource Council and are based on space needs, type of service and space available. Each vendor is required to provide a door prize valued at $25 or more in lieu of a registration fee. Due to limited space, only the first 80 who register will be able to participate. Registration deadline is Monday, September 10.
To participate or for more information, please contact Lee Ann Clark, County Extension Coordinator, at the St. Clair County Extension Office at (205) 338-9416 or email clarkla@aces.edu. Registration forms are available for download by visiting the St. Clair County Extension office website at www.aces.edu/StClair.
