Ragland Guys’ Pick Up Nice Win Over Jefferson Christian

12/8

Jacksonville Christian jumped out to a 23-13 lead at the half and never looked back, defeating Ragland 53-37. For the Purple Devils, John Arnold scored 13 points to go along with seven rebounds. Jonathon Gibson chipped in nine points.

“We were able to keep the game close into the fourth quarter,” Ragland coach Andy Eden said afterwards. “We cut down on our number of turnovers but could not make enough shots to win the game.

12/10

Ragland took on Sacred Heart and fell 45-25. For the Purple Devils, Landon Bice scored five points and grabbed four rebounds. John Arnold scored six points with seven rebounds.

“We showed much improvement in this game,” coach Andy Eden said. “I believe Sacred Heart is the team to beat in our area. We again cut down on turnovers but we did not shoot the ball well and did not take advantage of opportunities to win. I was proud of our effort and hustle.”

12/14

Colton Echols’ s 23 points paced the Purple Devils past Jefferson Christian 63-62 on the road. Devin Wilson scored 14 points and John Arnold added 11 points and seven rebounds. Caleb Crews also grabbed 11 rebounds for Ragland (2-6).

“This was a good win for us. We played with a lot of confidence from the start,” coach Andy Eden said. “We rebounded well, shot the ball well and reduced the number of turnovers.”
