A tight finish led to a 45-44 win for Ragland in their first game of the Piedmont Thanksgiving Tournament against Hokes Bluff. J.J. Looney paced the Devils with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Paige Gann’s 17 point, nine rebound night was not enough to get Ragland a win against Crossville in the Piedmont Thanksgiving Tournament. The Lady Purple Devils went down, 56-34, in the second game of the tournament.

The Lady Purple Devils were beaten by Saks in the Piedmont Thanksgiving Tournament, 48-41. Paige Gann had a team high 22 points, while J.J. Looney pulled down 14 rebounds.

Emily Church helped power the Lady Purple Devils 2-3, (1-0) past Victory Christian, 59-26, with a 16-point night. Paige Gann added 11 points and eight rebounds. J.J. Looney scored ten to go with eight rebounds.

Ragland (1-1) grabbed an area win with a 55-46 win at Victory Christian. For the Purple Devils, John Arnold and Devin Wilson both dropped 17 points with eight rebounds. Caleb Crews chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds. Ragland coach Andy Eden said afterwards, “We still have a long way to go before we are a good basketball team, but I believe we will get there. Our effort, hustle and teamwork showed much improvement.”
