Friends of Big Canoe outdoors talk
The Friends of Big Canoe Creek (TFOBCC) are on a mission to “protect and preserve Big Canoe Creek and its tributaries for the benefit of its communities and the health of the watershed.”
Keeping in line with that mission, TFOBCC invites all interested parties to hear Mitch Reid convey his message regarding a possible Comprehensive Water Policy for the State of Alabama.
Reid serves as the program director for the Alabama Rivers Alliance.
“While Alabama’s water resources are abundant, they are not unlimited; they must be carefully managed to meet long term needs,” said Reid.
Thursday, January 26 at First United Methodist Church of Springville (across from Del Sol) at 7pm, Reid will outline how the Alabama Rivers Alliance is working towards making a comprehensive water plan a reality in Alabama.
Continuing its cause to “encourage watershed residents and businesses to use water wisely, including water conservation and appropriate wastewater handling,” TFOBCC works hand-in-hand with the Alabama Rivers Alliance to achieve it’s purpose “to advocate smart water policy, organize at the grassroots level and teach citizens how they can protect their water.”
The January 26 event is free and refreshments will be served.
