Schools: Victory Christian School will hold a fall festival on Friday, Nov. 17 from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Food and snacks will be available for purchase. There will also be face painting, dunking booth, carnival games and inflatables. Cost is $15 for admission and activities, $5 for admission only. All proceeds will benefit the athletic program.
Sports: Congratulations to the PCHS varsity cheerleaders for qualifying for state competition.
Congratulations to the VCS varsity cheer team for placing 2nd in the AHSAA cheer competition! The squad moves on to the state competition next month.
Congratulations to Victory Christian School basketball player, Haley Hendrix for reaching 1,000 career points.
Basketball season is here. Pell City High School’s basketball teams will play Clay-Chalkville on Thursday, Nov. 16 at home beginning at 4:15 p.m. We will keep you informed of times closer to the games. Go Panthers! We do have vested interests in PCHS basketball. My grandson, and Annette’s son, Michael Snow, plays on the varsity team.
Local: Pell City Chamber of Commerce’s Third Thursday is today, Nov. 16, beginning at 11 a.m. Come for specials, sales and fun!
The St. Clair EMA announces that ALEA Marine Patrol will be in Pell City and will be offering a free boater safety course this Nov. 18 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the PC Municipal Complex. At the CEPA, the PCHS Spotlight Theatre will present “The Play that Goes Wrong, High School Edition,” on Nov. 16-18 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Cost is $5 for students and $10 for adults.
The Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center, the SBA, and the Pell City Chamber of Commerce will offer one-on-one counseling for prospective and existing small business owners at no charge on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9-11 a.m. beginning Nov. 21.
