Trese Mashburn

Hello readers! I’m back with this week’s edition of What’s Up in Odenville.

This past week has been a bit of a struggle for little ol’ me, as I had a bit of a tragedy. The iron I have had for 13 years this September fell off the ironing board one last time and finally met its demise. The entire bottom just fell slap off. The hubz came to the rescue and held the bottom together so that I could use it one last time to smooth out those pesky wrinkles.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “What’s an iron?” I’m aware that 90 percent of America uses the dryer and a wet washcloth as their iron — I too am guilty of that myself — however, there are some garments that simply cannot be treated in that careless fashion. So, the hubz and I spent our Sunday shopping for a new iron.

I am now the proud owner of a Black and Decker iron with a — wait for it — RETRACTABLE CORD. I was so excited about my new iron; as soon as I got home I ironed a dirty T-shirt just to see how well it worked. Don’t judge me. All is right in my world now.

Let’s get to the news:
