Christmas is getting very close. Only three more Saturdays left, so we hope your shopping is done or almost done. But please remember the reason for the season: the birth of Christ.

Christmas in Pell City
• Pell City Community Toy Drive now through Dec. 18. Drop off new toys at Boost Mobile and receive a card for a free blizzard from the Pell City Dairy Queen.
• Christmas Lights in the Park go live Friday, Dec. 8. It is always such a joy to ride through and see all of the displays.
• Pell City Library has Gingerbread House making sessions available tonight at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Call 205-884-1015 to register.
• The Heart of Pell City’s 6th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival will be on Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. in front of the St. Clair County Courthouse in downtown Pell City.
• Santa Claus will be at Union State Bank. Grab your camera, bring the kids, and come meet good ‘ole St. Nick at the Pell City office on Friday, Dec. 8 from 2–4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Visitors are responsible for their own photos; a photographer will not be present.
• The Pell City Christmas Parade, The Music and Magic of Christmas, will be on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
• Register today to ensure you get an event shirt and swag bag at the Jingle Bell 5k and Fun Run-on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Pell City Civic Center/Lakeside Park/SplashPad supporting St. Clair County Alabama Sheriffs Boys Ranch. Sign up now at runsignup.com or pellcityrotary.org.
• Terry Turner will perform at the Ark, on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 5-7 p.m., Christmas on Logan Martin. Also appearing will be country artist, Bart Connell. The cost is $40 which includes the show and a $20 meal credit. Limited seating, so get your tickets early.
• Christmas at Victory Santa Claus is coming to town. Bring the whole family to church for free pictures with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 9:15 and 10:30 a.m.

Congratulations to Reagan Tarver for being named a school winner in the 2023 Heisman High School Heisman scholarship.
Congratulations to Victory Christian’s Lady Lions Basketball team who was voted No. 7 in the state in 1A by the Alabama Association of basketball coaches.
Schools
Congratulations to Amy Beck on being chosen as the Pell City High School Teacher of the Month.
Pell City High School Winter Ball tickets went on sale in the school library on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Only 600 tickets available. Cash or check only. The ball will be on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 7-11 p.m. in the CEPA gym.
Local
Pell City Library will hold a cookie swap, Books for Cooks, at the library on Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. Bring 3 dozen cookies and prepare to have fun. Call 205-884-1015 to pre-register for this event.
