Thanks to all you helped made the softball benefit for 12-year-old, Annabelle Ashworth a success. 33 softball teams participated in the tournament helping raise more than $8,000 to help with Annabelle’s cancer treatment.

PCHS Panther Softball Team made State. They played their first game on Tuesday, the 17th so won’t know the results until after this column has to be in. Will let you know next week. Congratulations girls.

Congratulations to Brayden Cochran on winning the AJGO event held at Cider Ridge Golf Course. Brayden is the son of Coach Chad and Shannon Cochran.

Congratulations to Evan Watson who signed with Millsap College to play basketball. Picture is Evan, on signing day, with one of his coaches, James “Coondog” Causey.

PCHS Panther Boys’ Basketball tryouts will be held Mon-Wed, May 23-25 from 3-5pm in the CEPA. Must have a current physical. Bring plenty of water.

Pell City Panther Boys’ Basketball Camp will be held July 25-28 from 1pm-4pm at the CEPA for rising 1st-6th grades. Cost is $50. Instructors will be Coaches Jeff Smith, House, Swann, Kersh and Varsity players. Players will develop fundamental skills and receive a Panther Camp T-Shirt. Sign up now.

Looking for a Travel Basketball Summer League? Iron City Hoops is offering one for boys and girls 4th grade and up. Skills/games for elementary and middle. Games only for high school. www.ironcityhoops.com

Pell City Youth Football registration is May 9-July 1 for ages 5-12 as of Aug. 1st. Fee is $125 which includes helmet, decals, shoulder pads, socks, and game jersey. You can register at pellcity.recdesk.com. Practice begins July 11.

The Tenth Annual Logan Martin LakeFest and Boat Show will be held May 20-22, 2022, at Lakeside Park in Pell City! This year there will be closer parking, VIP parking, fireworks, a food court, a bigger kids’ area, music, and lots and lots of boats. Have a child interested in soccer? PCHS Future Panthers 2022 Summer Soccer Mini Camp will be held on June 27-30 at the Pell City Civic Center fields with 2 sessions to choose from. This is for boys and girls who will be in grades 1-6 in Fall 2022. Cost is $75 and for more information contact Amanda.elliott@pellcityschools.net. Register at the Civic Center by June 3 to be guaranteed your t-shirt size.

The Pell City SplashPad is open Thursday and Friday 1-6pm. Saturday 9-6pm and Sunday 11-6pm. REMINDER CASH ONLY.

Need something for the kiddos to do. The 4-H Clover Classroom is back. This is a special program series of 1-day workshops in the month of July and are open to youth ages 9-14. They do not have to be members of 4-H to participate. The fee for each class is $5. Call the Extension Office at 205-338-9416 to register and pay. Classes include Beginner Cooking, Beginner Sewing, Art, Raptors & Reptiles, Photography, and Salsa Canning.

2022 Pell City Hometown Block Party will be Sat., June 4th from 3pm-9pm. More information to come.

Dates for the 2022 Spotlight Summer Drama Camp at the CEPA have been set, and registration is now open! July 11-22 are the dates. Register at pellcitycepa.com/camp.

Wingnuts will be back at CEPA with “Run Through the Jungle” on July 24th at 2pm. Make plans now. Don’t want to miss this tribute to America’s veterans.

Logan Martin levels have reach summer pool at 462 feet so there will be lots of summer water activity. Have fun, but please be safe.
