Our prayers and condolences are with the family of William Ben Windsor, 88, of Pell City, who passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, February 19.
Ben grew up in Coal City and attended the Coal City Jr. High from first grade through ninth. He graduated from Pell City High School and he was my classmate.
He had a fantastic sense of humor and we called him “the clown of the class.”
He and his wife, Billie, were faithful members of Broken Arrow Baptist Church as long as they were able to attend services. Ben was the chair choir director.
Many complimentary remarks could be made about Ben Windsor. As the Christmas song goes, “He was a jolly, good fellow.” He will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and loved him.
Fairview Baptist Church, Highway 26, Ragland, will have their regular first Sunday singing April 3 at 1:30 p.m. The Revelators will be the guest singers. A spring revival will follow on Monday, April 4-Friday, April 8, 7 p.m.
Rev. Eary Basewell of Ashville will be the guest special singers each night. Pastor Wayne Arnold and church family invite everyone to the singing and the revival services.
Happy birthday to my grandson, Andrew Scott and Aubrey Grace Jones, who both celebrated March 18, Dixie Tollison, March 20, my grandson Austen Scott, March 21, my longtime friend, Jessie Garrison, March 23 and my grandson Aiden Scott, March 24! My grandsons, Andrew, Austen and Aidan Scott are brothers and sons of my son, Jay Scott of Coal City and Nan Scott of Louisville, KY.
