Rotary Club/Love Pantry

Earlier this year, amid the pandemic, the Pell City Rotary Club took on a project to eliminate hunger and support families in need within the community.

With the surge of COVID-19 cases in 2020, many people in our area were suddenly in much need of help. The Pell City Rotary Club worked with the Christian Love Pantry, a local non-profit that serves citizens of St. Clair County who have emergency food needs.

The Love Pantry typically serves between 700 to 800 families, but during this time of the pandemic and increased unemployment rates, the organization has seen a considerable increase in demand for their services.

Many Rotarians provided and still continue to provide volunteer services to the Love Pantry.

The Rotary Club requested and received a grant in the amount of $5497 to be given to the Love Pantry. This grant is intended to alleviate some of the pressure on the Love Pantry due to the current climate. Rotary has committed itself to providing assistance through the attainment, preparation and distribution of food through monthly service days on site at the Love Pantry.

The Pell City Rotary Club is still committed to help the community and look forward to the next project with the Love Pantry providing food at Christmas in the Park in Pell City this December.
