What’s Up in Odenville

Hello, Readers! I’m back with this week’s edition of What’s Up in Odenville.

It is the week of the Fourth of July and as I drove around Odenville  Monday, I have to say I was extremely disappointed to see that very few were celebrating the birth of our Nation. The lack of American flags being prominently displayed is heartbreaking. Nothing was flying from the poles as you drive in to the heart of our city. Our city park had nothing. None of the businesses and only a couple of homes along Hwy 411 had any kind of acknowledgement. Folks, we are celebrating America, not barbeque and a day off with pay.  Regardless of your political views, we still live in the greatest country ever, the land of the free and home of the brave. The least anyone can do is have pride in our Nation and the people that fought to get us here. Anyone that came to our town would have thought it was just another day and that is just sad.

Lets get to the news.

The Odenville Saints 12U All-Star team brought home another first place win in the Area Tournament this past weekend. Now it’s on to State and hopefully the World Series. Congrats, boys and coaches, on an awesome victory!
