- Attendees of last year’s AWF Wild Game Cook-Off enjoy an array of unique foods and peruse the silent auction, two highly-anticipated features returning to this year’s event.
TALLADEGA – Some of Alabama’s best local backyard chefs will be donning their aprons once again on March 4 at the Talladega Super Speedway for the 12th Annual Alabama Wildlife Federation Wild Game Cook-Off.
“This is a great event for fans and food lovers alike,” said track Chairman Grant Lynch. “The AWF Cook-Off provides a little something for everyone and I know we’ll be seeing some wildly impressive dishes again this year.”
In what promises to be one of the fiercest competitions yet, cook-off teams will compete in three different categories: fish, game, and fowl. The best overall winners in each will be invited to the state finals this summer for a shot at the title of AWF 2017 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion.
Competitors will be cooking their masterpieces in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage, allowing a behind the scenes look at where some of the greatest drivers in the world prepare their cars to race.
“So not only do attendees taste some of the best dishes made in Alabama, but they also get to see Talladega behind the scenes,” continued Lynch.
On top of the ability to sample the plethora of unique food and beverages, guests and AWF members will have the opportunity to participate in the highly anticipated live and silent auctions, as well as a chance to ride around the 33-degree banking of ‘NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track.
