- National Night Out
Pell City Police Department (PCPD) is planning its first annual National Night Out Against Crime.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lakeside Sports Complex. There will be police and fire department demonstrations, games, music and refreshments. A designated kids area has been set up with child-friendly games and a face painting station.
One of the main facets of National Night Out is to allow the community to interact with its officers, deputies, and firefighters. This is a chance for people to mingle with local officers and learn from them at the various events, including a DUI and texting simulator course.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with a demonstration from Air and Marine 1. PCPD will have a community prayer circle at 7 p.m. and a movie begins at 8 p.m. to wrap up the evening.
