What’s up in Odenville

Published 4:30 pm Thursday, November 12, 2015

Hello readers! I’m back with this week’s edition of What’s Up in Odenville.

Finally we have some cooler weather to go with those falling leaves and other evidence of Autumn. Unfortunately, the rain has killed any and all excitement from by Autumn buzz. It’s okay though, as I’m counting down the days to Thanksgiving regardless of the weather. I will then have an excuse to eat like it’s my last meal and not feel a bit bad about it. On a completely unrelated note, you have 43 shopping days until Christmas or six weekends. Whichever.

You. Are. Welcome.

Let’s get to the news:

The City of Odenville will host its annual Christmas Parade Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. The theme this year is Christmas in Dixie. The parade has grown enormously and hopes are high that this year will top the past two. Who will win this year’s braggin’ rights for best overall float? Hurry by Odenville City Hall or Odenville Police Department to sign up. Trophies will be given for the top three floats. There will also be a community fellowship directly after the parade with refreshments. For more info email odenvillebiz@gmail.com

Meet Me at the Park was a huge hit — even though the weather caused a change in venue to indoors at SCCHS. Event vendor Brandi Mandeville said tons of people still came out and that the weather really did not affect attendance at all. Keep praying for Payton he is dealing with some side effects from medicine. Thanks to all who participated.
