- Ashville Highlight
Weaver 42 Ashville 20
In a game that was interrupted by thunderstorms and a spectacular power outage, the Ashville Bulldogs suffered their second consecutive loss in a two-day long, turnover-ridden endurance nightmare, in which Weaver returned to Ashville on Saturday after the previous night’s delay and wore down the Bulldogs with their ground game on their way to victory.
Ashville did score three touchdowns, including an 18 yard post route from quarterback Judd Mundy to wideout Landon Cornutt, and a very clever hook-and-lateral pass and pitch from six yards out that was scored by Hunter Huckaby.
Week Four Preview vs. Ohatchee
Despite winning only three games in the last 23, Ohatchee has seemed to put together a pretty effective offensive ground attack that has put up 81 points in the first two games before last Friday’s loss to Piedmont. Look for Ohatchee to continue with its power running scheme that features plenty of junior tailback Austin Tucker, who added 20 pounds during the offseason in preparation for the role, which on Friday he seemed intent of taking full advantage it. When Tucker is not pounding the ball down the field, look for quarterback keepers from Taylor Eubanks in an attempt to misdirect the Bulldogs defense.
