Hello readers! I’m back with this weeks edition of What’s Up in Odenville. I have been functioning on beach brain since I got back from vacation. I haven’t even unpacked my suitcase! Somewhere in the back of my mind, I keep hoping I will wake up and still have my toes in the sand and hear the sounds of the waves crashing. Hey, a girl can dream can’t she? Let’s get back to reality with the news.

This football season will be the 50th Anniversary of the Saint Clair County Saints Football Team (according to one Tommy/Jackson Smith) A social media frenzy quickly broke out with folks remembering their favorite coaches and players of all time, and stories of mishaps on the field. The first Saints team to go to the playoffs was 1984-1985, and 1993 was the year our boys won a State Championship — which the only State win to date.
The boys began their two-a-day workouts this week in preparation for this football season. The first SCCHS football game will be a jamboree game scheduled for Thursday August 20th. We can’t wait to cheer on our Saints!!
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 12.
