EDITH FAYE WILLIAMS-SAVASTA

ROCKLEDGE, FL – Edith Fay Williams-Savasta, age 81, of Rockledge, FL, went to be with Jesus on March 1, 2015.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John Savasta; her sister, Mary Williams-Abbott; children, Lloydene Church-Vivenzio (Raymond), Thomas Church (Denise), Richard Church (Delia), Karen Church-Schiaffino (Joseph), Michael Savasta, Christine Savasta, Dierdre Savasta-Kenney; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Faye (Nina) was a registered nurse, licensed real estate broker, contributing writer to the Florida Today newspaper and served her community on Historical Society Boards, as a Hospice Volunteer, Guardian Ad Litum for children, and pregnancy counselor. Faye was well known for creating the “Green for Go” ribbons campaign, which reignited the space program after the Challenger explosion in 1986.

Additional hobbies included writing, painting, golfing and camping. She was a feisty, no-nonsense, strong, creative, very active and intelligent woman. She was an inspiration and loved by all who knew her. Faye Savasta will be severely missed as we bid her a blessed farewell into the arms of heaven.

The funeral service will be March 9, 2015, 12:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
