- On Feb. 19, Talladega City Manager Brian Muenger signed his contract with Pell City to serve as city manager through the current council's term. He is slated to start on March 23.
Around 4 p.m., Brian Muenger told the Pell City City Council that he would be turning in his 30-day notice in “about an hour.” The current Talladega City Manager then picked up a pen, and he and Mayor Joe Funderburg signed Muenger’s contract to serve as Pell City’s next chief administrator.
On Feb. 19, the Council unanimously approved Muenger as the next city manager of Pell City. After signing, Muenger is set to earn $115,003.20 per year in the role.
His contract, which includes benefits like a $100 monthly technology allowance and time to relocate to the city, will expire at the close of the council’s term. In Pell City, each new administration will be required to make a decision on Muenger’s contract.
“I’m extremely excited to join this city,” Muenger told the Council at the special called meeting. “I look forward to coming on board and helping you move forward with your goals. I’m excited to contribute.”
Muenger’s official start date is March 23.
