Local quilter recognized for talent

Ruby Nuss of St. Clair County won second place in the hand-stitched and machine-stitched divisions of the State Quilting Contest sponsored by the Alabama Farmers Federation Women’s Leadership Division.

She received $100 in each contest, which were part of the Federation’s 42nd annual Commodity Producers Conference in Huntsville Aug. 7-10. The purpose of the Alabama Farmers Federation Women’s Leadership Division is to provide an opportunity for women to actively participate in the Federation’s policy-making and -execution activities.
