The Leeds Community Chorus will be visiting a bygone era, and you are invited to join them on May 17th at 7pm and May 18th at 2pm, at the Leeds Theatre and Arts Center located at 8140 Parkway Drive in Leeds.  The concert will be presented in a USO Tour style and will be featuring solos and specials by The Leeding Ladies and The Leeds Connection. Musical selections will include “Chattanooga Choo-Choo, “Blades of Grass”, “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” and many more.  What a great way to celebrate Armed Forces Day (May 17) and show your patriotic spirit.  Armed Forces Day is celebrated the third Saturday of May to pay tribute to the men and women who serve the US Armed Forces.  There will also be a special recognition of the three Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients from Leeds – Staff Sergeant Henry E. “Red” Erwin (U.S. Army, WW2), PFC Alford L. McLaughlin (USMC, Korea), and First Lt. William R. Lawley (U.S. Army, WW2).
The Chorus has a 20-year history in Leeds and is directed by Ron Hunsinger and accompanied by Dell Harding Smith. The Chorus performances are presented by The Leeds Arts Council, Inc.
Tickets are $10 and reservations can be made by calling the Leeds Arts Council office at 205-699-1892 or by email to leedsartscouncil@windstream.net.
