Savage honored

Gary W. Savage, President of BL Harbert International’s US Group, was chosen as a recipient of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Top 25 Excellence in Business Award which, “identifies, recognizes and celebrates the success of the top 25 UAB alumni-owned or UAB alumni-operated businesses,” according to a release published by UAB News.
Savage is a native of Pell City, graduate of Pell City High School, and earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from UAB’s School of Engineering. He currently serves as the state treasurer of the Alabama Association of General Contractors (AGC) and as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Pell City.
During Savage’s tenure as president, BL Harbert has opened three new offices across the Southeast; completed construction of the Mercedes-Benz Logistics Hub in a record time of 10 months; simultaneously constructed facilities on four college campuses in Alabama; and received two national safety awards. In 2014, BL Harbert was awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Top National Safety Award, which was earned due to BL Harbert’s exemplary safety practices and record.
