Celebrating the 20th annual Creek Bank Festival the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) is excited for the event on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Leeds Memorial Park off Highway 119.
Kicking off the Creek Bank festivities was the first Miss Creek Bank pageant.
Contestants could compete in the prettiest eyes, dress, smile and hair categories as well as Miss Photogenic.
They were then asked to provide three fun facts about themselves to be read as they dazzled the audience when taking to the stage.
Sydney Darabaris was crowned the first ever Miss Creek Bank.
Darabaris is a Leeds Greenwave varsity cheerleader, an award winning member of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and looking forward to attending the University of Montevallo in the fall.
Excited to bring the community the best Creek Bank Festival yet, LACC executive director Sandra McGuire and her chamber directors along with the chamber ambassadors are looking for more vendors to add to this year’s events line up.
Those with games, food, crafts and musical acts are asked to join the party.
Applications are available at the chamber’s website, www.leedsareachamber.com.
Booth space is 12’x12’ and costs $50. Vendors needing the use of a power outlet are charged an additional $5.
Registration is due April 22, 2014.
“The 20th Annual Creek Bank Festival will be a day full of events starting with the Relay for Life 5k and then the sweets bake off followed by the Creek Bark Pageant,” said LACC president Jeff Hudson. “Arts and crafts, musical entertainment, activities for kids and lots of good food will be on hand. The best part about it is bringing the community together and showcasing what a great place we live in.”
Elaborating on what Hudson mentioned, in conjunction with the 20th Annual Creek Bank Festival is the Creek Bank Festival 5K & Fun Run.
The 5K kicks off at 8:45 a.m. and the Fun Run jump starts at 9 a.m.
Participants who register online at http://creekbank5k.org by April 1st receive a t-shirt. The Creek Bank Festival 5K & Fun Run benefits the American Cancer Society.
It’s $35 to help the American Cancer Society “help fund its life saving mission and help to finish the fight against cancer.”
Honored to provide the community with an event that’s free and fun for the whole family, LACC looks forward to making the 20th Annual Creek Bank Festival one Leeds and its neighboring areas remember.
