Prepared Minds Lead to Success at Leeds High School

Leeds High School (LHS) recently held its first tapping of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
Sponsored by the LHS Career Technical Education Department that includes teachers Angela Walker, Career Technical Liasion, Tierra Bouyer, Business Education, Leslie Schall, Business Education and Miriam Turner, Family and Consumer Sciences, 23 students were inducted in this inaugural class.
Displaying excellent character that incorporates value, worth, truth and honesty in their interaction with fellow students, those tapped into the National Technical Honor Society also hold a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA, showing they excel in the classroom as well.
The goal of NTHS is to “promote the ideals of honesty and reward scholastic achievement.”
NTHS’s slogan is “excellence in America’s workforce begins with excellence in workforce education.”
Honored to be among the first students tapped into the NTHS the following 23 students were inducted after stating the NTHS pledge.
Holding up their right hand the students recited, “As a member of the National Technical Honor Society, I pledge to maintain the highest standard of personal conduct. I will apply myself to continue a record of scholastic achievement, and I will strive for excellence in all aspects of my education. I will invest my talents, my skills and my knowledge in a career of my own choosing and shall always endeavor to uphold my obligations as a citizen of my community and my country.”
