New to Riverside is Precision Automotive, a business specializing in quality auto and truck repair as well as forklift services. This new business held its ribbon-cutting ceremony last Friday, June 14.

“We’re very excited about this business. It is the most successful business in this location, and Riverside wants Precision Automotive to be successful!” said Rusty Jessup, mayor of Riverside.

Precision Automotive, as a company, has been around for 6 or 7 years, according to the current owner, John Gilbert Sr. The business was formerly located in Pell City. Moving only a mile down the road on Highway 78, the new location is located near the Pell City and Riverside city limits.

The decision to relocate the business was made because Gilbert Sr. felt that the prior location in Pell City was not visible enough. The founder of Precision Automotive was John Gilbert Jr., son of John Gilbert Sr. He began the business when he was only seventeen years old with the support of his father.

When John Gilbert Jr. passed away in December of 2009, John Gilbert Sr. was faced with a difficult decision. He had to decide whether he wanted to continue the business that his son had started or liquidate the company. Because of his son’s passion for his business and the industry, Gilbert Senior took over Precision Automotive.

Prior to accepting his son’s business, Gilbert Senior had twenty years of experience with forklifts at a business in Pell City. Because of this, he decided to merge the automotive side of his son’s business with his forklift services.

Precision Automotive is the only forklift and automotive service in Riverside, and Gilbert and his team are excited to work with the Riverside community. “We’re customer oriented. Our mission is to take care of the customer, provide quality work and sustain a suitable workplace for our employees,” said Gilbert Senior.
