Leeds voters call for change

Leeds citizens have spoken and they voted for change. New Mayor David Miller along with new councilman for District 4 Craig Wadsworth and the first black woman (ever) to be elected to the Leeds City Council, Devoris Ragland for District 5 will be take their seats in city government Monday, November 5.

“I’m overjoyed,” said Ragland. “I’m just so happy. It’s time for a change and to give the citizens of Leeds the good quality of life they deserve.”
After an exhausting journey campaigning, Wadsworth wanted to express his gratitude.
“Thank you to everyone who voted for me and helped me get elected,” said Wadsworth. “I’m excited for the future of Leeds and ready to do the best job I can for the City of Leeds.”
Incoming Mayor David Miller said he is elated.
“It was a tough campaign, but I stayed on the high road and I think people respected that,” said Miller. “Working with this council we are now poised to move the city forward.”
