Asking current patients and new ones to bring 5 non-perishable food items or make a $5 donation to Leeds Outreach, the Palmas would waive the examination fee.
“Giving back to the community is a real big thing for us,” said Rick. “We wanted to do this in the summer because that’s when the Leeds Outreach is low.”
Decorating their office in full out Christmas décor, the Palmas and their patients got into the spirit of things.
“It was fun,” said Rick.
Seeing over 60 people the last week of July allowed Leeds Family Chiropractic to present Leeds Outreach director Barbara Higginbotham with a check for $200 along with several boxes of food.
“Support like this is great because it helps feed our families in need,” said Higginbotham.
Contributions are needed year round, but perhaps what is the most beneficial is donating during the summer months.
“Most people think to give around the holidays,” Higginbotham said. “But, when people are in need the most is during the summer because children are home all day.”
Thankful for the support from Leeds Chiropractic and their customers, Higginbotham is grateful to continue to provide, “A hand up, not a hand out.”
