Feeling the pinch from rising food costs? Want to save a little money without going overboard? No matter what your income, diet, schedule or experience, you can save more than you might imagine with some quick tips from Angela Treadaway, with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. She will teach a free class entitled Couponing 101 at the Pell City Public Library on Wednesday, August 1st at noon.
With her outgoing personality and quick wit, you’re sure to be entertained, but don’t forget to take a few notes, because Angela knows her subject. She has taught several classes on couponing throughout the state, but she is also a wealth of information in other areas as well. As a Regional Agent III, Ms. Treadaway is responsible for a wide geographic area, including Blount County, Cullman County, Jefferson County, St. Clair County, Shelby County, and Walker County. Her areas of expertise include food safety, food preparation, and preservation. Ms. Treadaway will share money-saving tips from her personal notes, as well as sources for information, including publications and websites. Participants will also receive informative handouts, so those planning to attend will need to contact the library to pre-register, at 205-884-1015.
This class is scheduled in connection with the Pell City Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program. The theme for this year is “Between the Covers . . .Read!” A variety of programs have been planned to entertain and enlighten, and participants are encouraged to attend these, and to register for the reading segment of the reading program which offers participants the chance to win incredibly fabulous prizes.
For every three books read, participants may place an entry ‘in the hat’ for the chance to win at weekly drawings (on Friday afternoons) and at the finale on August 19 at 3 p.m. at the Pell City Library.
Entries carry over from week to week, so if you don’t win the first week, all is not lost. Your name just might get drawn the following week, or at the finale. Keep Reading! The more you read, the greater your chances to win. Participants choose the books they read, and it’s all for fun. If you haven’t yet registered, it’s not too late. Just call or drop by the library, to join the fun!
And while you’re there, be sure to register for the couponing class, and check out the other great opportunities provided by your Pell City Public Library.
