St. Clair County Extension Offers Introductory Internet Training Session

A free two hour training session will be offered on Tuesday, August 7th at the Pell City Civic Center for anyone interested in learning more about the “super highway of communication” being high speed internet or broadband.

The training will include discussion about high speed internet access both statewide and locally. It will also cover basics like using the internet for general searches including jobs and the important issue of security. It is not required that one be computer literate to attend this training session.
Called Broadband 101, this upcoming training session is but the first of a series of trainings being offered locally. Other subjects to be covered include: eHome, eWorkforce, eCommerce, eGlobal, eLearning, eHealth, eCommunity, eGovernment, and ePublicSafety.
This educational project is being administered the Alabama Cooperative Extension System under a contract with the Alabama Department of Community Affairs (ADECA) in cooperation with partners around the state. This project is funded by a grant from the U. S. Department of Commerce. This Broadband 101 training session will be held from 9:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m. Refreshments will be provided.
