Creating a world of crafting gone right, the mother- daughter duo of Becky Coffelt and Hannah Cornelius are adding an extra splash of panache to Springville with their store—Vintage Hip.
Customized pieces such as the tables Becky’s husband, Dennis, handmade from fallen trees during the storms of April 27 are an example of the uniqueness experienced at Vintage Hip.
“Most things in our store have been touched by a hand in some way,” said Becky. “Vintage Hip is about showing something with some heart in it.”
Honored to showcase artwork by artists in neighboring areas as well as Springville, Coffelt and Cornelius stock their store with love.
“We’re really blessed because these people aren’t just good artists, they’re good people,” said Becky.
Hosting their grand opening this past Mother’s Day, these gals look forward to meeting new shoppers.
“We received compliments on how original and unique the store is,” Hannah said.
Showcasing clothing lines where the designer contributes a portion of the proceeds to Habitat for Humanity, Vintage Hip is also about connecting people.
Looking forward to incorporating interactive events like painting parties, the name of the store came about through a Facebook contest.
“We had a contest to suggest a name,” Becky said. “It got the creativity flowing.”
Open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the ladies at Vintage Hip like to take ordinary things that might look like nothing and make them into something unique.
Adding that special touch has become a family affair as Dennis has also made a wall art piece out of an antique whiskey barrel and Hannah’s husband, Eddy, has made light fixtures out of buckets.
These items can be seen and are available for purchase at the store.
“We like to revamp or as we like to say Vintage Hip it up,” Becky said.
Providing additional services to the community, Becky and Hannah are also available for decorating for events like weddings and birthday parties.
Walking into a world of one-of-a-kind creations, visiting Vintage Hip is something one should place on their summer bucket list.
