As Pell City continues to grow, the Pell City Chamber of Commerce strives to create opportunities for residents and owners of area businesses to discover what the city has to offer.
On Thursday, March 29 at noon the Pell City Chamber of Commerce will host their first luncheon at the Pell City Civic Center, providing an opportunity for people to learn about economic growth in the area as well as an opportunity to network with others in the community.
Chamber member and chair of the chamber luncheon committee, Wayne Smith says he hopes this will be the first of regular quarterly luncheons, aiming to have a luncheon the last week of every quarter.
By hosting luncheons, the Pell City Chamber wants to provide business leaders an outlet for getting together to learn and connect with one another.
“We want to give people a new avenue to eat lunch and network,” Smith said. “We also want to provide people with a better understanding of what’s available to them in their community.”
The Chamber is making plans to have a guest speaker at every luncheon. Smith says the chamber is looking to host speakers from different business and professional backgrounds in an effort to provide guests with information that pertains to the Pell City community.
Don Smith, Director of the St, Clair Economic Development Council (EDC) will be the guest speaker at the Chamber’s first luncheon next Thursday. Smith plans to talk about how to build a strong local economy, saying, “What we try to practice on a county-wide level, we try to do on a local level as well.”
The event is open to the public.
“We want anybody that would like to come to join us,” Wayne Smith said. “The luncheon is a good way to grow membership and reach out to the community.”
The cost is $15, and lunch will be provided.
